Helena, MT

The capitol of Montana!
~
We met up with Shane's family here for a fun, short weekend! At least some of us were able to have fun. Poor Elizabeth was stuck inside the hotel attending a medical conference.

This was the scene right outside our hotel! Beautifully done isn't it?! Being a Landscape Architect, I was in awe over this place! Checking everything out, interpreting the design, seeing the design in plan view in my head etc... I thought this place was very well done! Checking out the sculpturesThe waterfall...Yikes... what's this? (Shane signing "WOW")Yes... we enjoyed a new flavor of ice cream everyday! It was so delicious, we couldn't stop with just one. Kara and Shane, the discoverers.Canyon Ferry LakeThere were plans to have a ski boat rented, but they fell through. So... we found someone to take us out on his sail boat. Kara and I took advantage of the sun, while the boys chatted it up with the skipper and received a few tips on how to sail a sail boat. The skipper and his friend had a short race. The friend won!!!The Kleppen's and our skipperAfter we got cleaned up, we headed over to the college for a symphony concert. There were 18,000 people sitting on the lawn. So this was the scene hours before the concert! Everyone had to come stake down their plot of land!It was a beautiful evening! Good music, a beautiful sunset, and a firework show to top it off!!Seems like the sky was giving us a firework show of color!
