The Party

We had a very little birthday party for Kinley with Grandparents, and a few little friends.

Grandma helped frost and decorate the cake just moments before it was devoured.

It was SOOOO funny!  The whole house was cracking up.

ONE YEAR OLD

My little man turns

ONE YEAR OLD

today!!!

*sniff, sniff*

I remember very vividly sitting in the living room chatting with Auntie Kara when I felt my first contraction.  I had been to the doctor that morning for my 39 week check up and was 4 cm dialated.  On my way home from the doctor, i stopped and got a pedicure.  Why? Why not?!!  Baby might as well have nice looking feet to look at, since it is about the first thing it sees when it comes out! :) And because it seemed like a good time to use a gift card I had received at a baby shower when KALIA WAS BORN!!!  Yes, it took me 21 months to use it!

After arriving home we just waited.  With beautiful feet!

Delivery was a breeze.

8 lbs 2 oz. and 19 3/4"

And has been the happiest easiest baby!

Today at his exact one year check up he was 22 lbs. and 31.5"

My smiley, happy, baby, how did you grow up so fast?

First Hair Cut

We gave Kinley his first hair cut last night.

I figured an ice cream bar would ease the fear of the hair clipper.

And I was right.

He didn't really care at all. Until the very end.

But, we managed to trim him up, and he looks rather handsome!

This was both kids' first trip to the zoo and they loved it!

 Kalia couldn't wait to see the elephants, and then once we got there, she couldn't wait to go see butterflies!  Maybe the elephants seemed a little too big for her.

 It was a warm beautiful day.  

I forgot a hat for Kalia's head, so we bought her one.  It worked but, she insisted she wear it backwards.

 We had a lot of fun and the kids were perfect the whole time.  But...whew! What a day!  The zoo is huge and there were so many animals to see....we came home and crashed.

11 1/2 months

Kinley, my baby, will soon be a toddler!
Only 11 days until he turns ONE!
It is absolutely UNBELIEVABLE how fast time flies!
He's been walking for a week now, and loves it.  He just can't make those little legs move fast enough to keep up with his big sister.  But, he tries and it usually ends up with a thump and a whaaaa!

(Why is it that every time I have an opportunity to snap a few good pictures of him, I always have him in a white onsie? I guess that's the way this boss rolls.)

 Those are stumps in the back of that pickup! 8 total. The suspension was groaning, but she did here job.

 They were dug out of the ground last spring, and we are just now getting around to taking them to the wood recyclers. Ah...feels good to have that pile out of our yard!

 Kalia must have been having a party with sheep!

 Well, this picture is now outdated because, HE IS WALKING NOW! But, he had a blast pushing the shopping cart around until he discovered he could move his feet without holding onto anything.

 We had a visit from my brother and his family. Such a fun special weekend!

The weather was beautiful and we played outside the WHOLE weekend!
