Relaxing days

It was about zero degrees this morning plus the wind was blowing. Brr... Nothing like the cold wind to wake you up in the morning!Winter in Plentywood. I about froze my nose and toes off just to get this picture!Trent let his puppy in to play in all of our christmas wrapping paper. He add a LITTLE entertainment to our evening.
Shane is soaking up some sun rays and having a heart to heart stare with the dog!

We have been consuming large amounts of coffee, hot chocolate, and tea to keep ourselves warm. Mmmm... don't you just love winter?!

Cold Country

After about a day and a half of driving, we have arrived in Northeast Montana. So far we are working on catching up on our sleep and having a few relaxing days. Sounds like a good vacation to me! What I am loving most is the cold weather and the snow! Two things we don't get enough of in Seattle! So... I'll be spending a few days outside in the snow getting my fix before I have to go back to rain!

Somewhere in Western Montana... Beautiful country! Sometimes I wonder how my dad ever left this country for sagebrush, but..... I suppose you've got to do what you've got to do to make a living! And that's just what he did, worked hard and built up a farm. For which I am so thankful for!Plentywood, MT. Beautiful country in itself. There is a lot of history here and I've already sat down with Shane's grandma and heard a little about his ancestors homesteading here and living in a sod hut. It's truly amazing to me what our ancestors went through to make a future for us!

I'm looking forward to our time here with family and our little excursions exploring the country. Ta-ta for now!

The weekend update!

Well... weekends just never seem to be long enough!!!!! I had to work most of the day on Saturday, so it seems like the weekend flew by! After I got off work, we met up with our friends Kristin and Marcus Sanchez and went bowling and then had a nice dinner afterward. So... that was the extent of our activities for the weekend! Now Sunday was spent at meeting, and then trying to be oh so quiet so Shane can study for the rest of the day! We will both be so happy after his last final on WEDNESDAY!!!!!

Yes, we did bowl, but i didn't get any action shots! Downtown Bellevue puts on "Snowflake Lane" every December for the kids, and we happened to finish dinner at the tail end of the show. The streets are all lit up, the buildings are equipped with colored lights so there is a light show, along with nutcracker and snowmen characters, and LOTS of music! OH yeah, and then they blow snow off the roofs of the buildings. Quite the site!

Even though it was a short weekend, we had a really good time goofing off at the bowling alley and then minding our manners at dinner! Good Times!
