Full Weekend

We started our weekend activities early with a Mariners came on Thursday night. We were lucky enough to be the recipients of free tickets, so we gladly accepted and enjoyed a fun night at the game!Shane's brother and sister came over from Moscow for the weekend. It was the opening weekend for Emerald Downs, which is the home of Seattle's horse races. Shane was the only one who had been here before, so this was a new and fun experience for the rest of us!

The trumpet player, indicating the start of the race.
Here they are coming around the corner, almost to the finish line.Yikes.... it's going to be a close one! And of course.... my favorite part of the whole event! John Deer tractors, smoothing out the track after each race!
The gang. Jed, me, Kara, and Shane. The wind made it kind of chilly, so we have piled on coats and vests. The boys had a blast betting on the horse. Can you guess who came out ahead? Ha, neither one! They didn't prove to be very good horse judges!
These were good times! We will definitely be going back for more races!

Basket of joy!

I purchased this little ceramic basket the other day (just because it was on a REALLY good sale). I had no need or purpose for it...it was just so cute, I had to have it. When I got it home and scratched my head on what to put in it, I wondered if flowers would work? So I bought some tulips. And this is what I get to look at all day. I love it so much, it makes me happy every time I see it!My conclusion......go ahead and buy something you don't need! ;) It could make your day. Like these tulips have in this cute little basket!

Oregon

Shane and I joined the Mosman (Malia's) family for the Easter weekend. We drove to Salem, OR on Friday night and enjoyed catching up with everyone. Saturday was a fun relaxing day! We helped (more like watched) the boys put in under cabinet lights in Rod and Debi's new kitchen and then we took a short trip the beach in Lincoln City. We had our fill of salt water taffy, chowder at Mo's, and cold wind blowing on the beach. So... we headed back to Salem. Sunday was filled with more family and a wonderful Easter lunch!
~
These are a few fun pictures I took on the beach.Shane took several pictures of the seals. We were wishing they were closer so we could see them better. This is as close as we could get with the zoom on the camera.
Thanks Ryan and Malia for letting us come with you! As always, we had a great time!

Mostly sunny with NO chance of rain!

It was a wonderful, beautiful weekend! We finally had some warm weather and blue skies. So... we took advantage and soaked it all in!
~
I guess a little bit of Vitamin D gets people excited!
This was the scene of our weekly Friday game night! I had made some whipping cream to put on strawberries...but Ryan found it easier and much more delicious just to squirt it straight into his mouth, then Malia got the great idea of giving him a mustache! Oh... the good times. This is what all of Seattle looked like this weekend! PEOPLE EVERYWHERE!
Including us!! Ha-Ha!
Beautiful spring colors.
Pampas grass displaying it's winter beauty.
I don't know this man, but I love the picture. He just looked so content sitting out on the end of the dock, soaking in the sun.
Ahh....we are refreshed and ready for another week. Nothing renews your spirit like a few sunny days after a long dark winter! We're looking forward to Easter celebrations next weekend! Have a good week everyone!
